Bentley Lodge

Welcome to all readers, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, I am Joanna the Registered Manager of Bentley Lodge Care and Nursing home, situated in the heart of Bentley village. Many people will know us as formally Quinta nursing home until we decided to make a name change just before Christmas 2016.

The name change was part of many changes the nursing home has now been through, it has been a past exciting year for our home with many positive changes taking place to ensure we offer good, quality kind care for all our lovely residents, and to improve community connection for the home to the village as many of our wonderful residents have come from the village and surrounding areas and the support we have received from local villagers has been fantastic! Thank you so much for all the local volunteers from Age Concern organised by Richard and Keith our village agents who have been a marvellous support link to the home and arranging many different activities, such as our recent trip to the garden centre and arranging many kind volunteers to make cakes for our ‘Traditional British Cake Tea’ which was a great success! Thank you to Yan and the church service for giving us a comforting monthly services and Christmas carol concert. Thank you to Bentley Infants School for giving us a joyful singing concert.

Everyone is more than welcome to ‘pop in’ and visit us within the home and see the positive changes, which have been made. I am so proud to be the manager of this warm, cosy home, which offers a homely environment with home made daily food served, large character rooms, two activities co-ordinators who arrange wonderful meaningful weekly activities and trained compassionate staff. We are proud to be an independent care and nursing home which can be flexible to meet tailored needs of individuals needing care and support, we have a range of holistic services and each resident is treated as an individual so we can strive to listen to their preferences, wishes and choices.

If you would like to become a volunteer within our home, I would love to hear from you, maybe just to sit and chat with residents with a cuppa, maybe you play an instrument, maybe you have a friendly pet who the residents would love to see, maybe you have a interesting topic or hobby, maybe you have photo’s of the village which could been shared. I feel it is so important to bring the community into the local nursing home and enrich as many lives as possible.

We had a wonderful summer BBQ last summer with live entertainment and the photo is of myself and one of our much loved residents Yolanda x

Please give me a call or come and visit us!

Thank you

Joanna
