Unauthorised encampment

Dear All,

Please be aware that there is currently two unauthorised encampment within the East Hampshire District Council area.

One encampment is on land between Kings Road and Whitedown Lane in Alton. The encampment arrived on the 30th August 2020. This land belongs to HCC. They are aware and their Gypsy Liaison Officer Nicholas Waite is leading on this.

The second encampment is on the playing fields at Peel Park, Clanfield. The encampment arrived last night. The land is the responsibility of Clanfield Parish Council of whom are aware and leading on this.

The Police are aware of both encampments.

Please check that your land is as secure as possible.

In the event of an unauthorised encampment arriving on your land, in the first instance ring 101 to alert the Police quoting Op Quebec. Please give all vital information including the full address of the land, number of vehicles, number of caravans, number of people, and any concerns that you may have including any criminal damage reports.

In addition, please notify the Community Safety team at EHDC to make us aware of the encampment and we will send an alert to neighbouring Parish Councils.
